(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reuters reported on the 27th (local time) that civilian casualties continued as Russia intensified its offensive on the Ukrainian front.
“Two people were killed and 29 injured in an attack by Russian forces in Slavyansk,” Governor Pablo Kirilenko of the eastern Ukrainian province of Donetsk said on Facebook.
The Office of the President of Ukraine said that around 10 towns and villages have been expelled by Russian forces in the last 24 hours.
Residential buildings, hotels and courts in Audiiyuka, in the eastern region of Donetsk, which has recently become the biggest battleground along with Bakhmut, were attacked by Russian missiles.
The Mayor of Audijuka, Vitaly Barabash, said that companies and public service workers had been evacuated from the city.
“The city is more and more reminiscent of a post-apocalyptic movie,” he explained, “and she had to make difficult decisions.”
