[영상] Turkey as mediator, ‘unrealistic’ to Russia’s demands for ‘Donbass independence’

(Seoul = Yonhap News) U.S. CNN reported on the 28th (local time) that Turkey has evaluated Russia’s demands for the Donbas region of Ukraine as ‘unrealistic’.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s closest aide, Ibrahim Kalin, spokesman for the presidential office, said in an interview with CNN on the 27th that Russia’s request for approval of the annexation of Crimea and recognition of the independence of Donbass was the same.

“These demands are an uncompromising line for Ukrainians living in Crimea and Donbas,” he said.

“Like other countries in the world, Turkey did not approve the annexation of Crimea. Not even China,” he said. “Russia will have to come up with other demands.”

“Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is ready to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin, but Putin has so far refused,” Kalin said. I said it was done,” he said.

President Erdogan also emphasized that communication is possible based on his long-standing relationship with Putin in particular.

Turkey has claimed to be the mediator of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, and the fifth peace talks are scheduled to be held in Turkey on the 29th.
