[영상]From solicitation to mobile business… Crackdown on ‘violation of quarantine rules’ facilities

The police are cracking down on entertainment pubs that have been operating illegally without signboards after building a closed room. yunhap news In an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the police have conducted extensive crackdowns on illegally operated entertainment facilities.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 21st that as a result of cracking down on illegal business of entertainment facilities throughout Seoul, including the Gangnam area, for two days from the 19th to the 20th, 53 cases based on the number of cases and 359 people based on the number of people were caught.

By type, there were 33 violations of the Infectious Disease Prevention Act (296 people based on the number of people), 3 violations of the Food Sanitation Act (43 people), and 17 violations of the Music Industry Promotion Act (20 people).

Among the facilities cracked down this time, there was an entertainment pub that was suspended for two weeks after a confirmed case occurred in March while operating in violation of quarantine rules. 10 people per day were caught for ‘moving business’ to an entertainment pub where gatherings were prohibited by recruiting customers by soliciting on the street and then providing vehicle service.

In addition, the police said that a number of other activities were caught, such as the operation of an unauthorized entertainment pub in a general restaurant, and the sale of alcoholic beverages in the karaoke practice area and the employment of assistants.

A total of 4,300 people, including the police in charge of life safety and investigations of the Seoul Metropolitan Government and frontline police stations, and the task force of 50 companies, were put in during this crackdown period.

The police plan to take strict measures such as criminal punishment for not only the operators of the entertainment facilities found but also the users according to the gathering ban and restriction orders, and notifying the establishments of administrative dispositions and taxation data.

Choi Gwan-ho, Commissioner of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, said, “The police will actively support the government’s quarantine policy and the public’s efforts to participate in the quarantine so that it can be effective.”
