A reporter from Ghana has set out to claim himself as a ‘human octopus’ ahead of the Qatar 2022 World Cup match between Korea and Ghana.

At the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, an octopus called ‘Foul’ gained fame for cleverly predicting the outcome of the match.

At this World Cup in Qatar, former player Chris Sutton, who works as a commentator for the BBC, is attracting attention as a ‘human octopus’.

Sutton showed a strike rate of 75% by matching wins and losses in 12 out of 16 games in the first leg of each group.

In particular, he scored Japan’s 2-1 win over Germany. He also predicted a draw between Korea and Uruguay.

Ghanaian reporter Lehman Osman (30), who works for the British media ‘National World’, started predicting the Group H results.

On the 26th, reporter Osman met with Korean reporters at the Aspire Zone training ground in Doha, Qatar, where the Ghanaian national team was training. Apparently he would get up.

Reporter Osman predicted, “Ghana will win over Korea and Uruguay in a row, and Korea will lose against Ghana, but win the final game against Portugal.”

In addition, Portugal, who recorded 1 win, 1 draw and 1 loss, finished the tournament in 3rd place behind Korea in terms of goals and goal difference, and Uruguay was eliminated with 2 draws and 1 loss, Osman predicted .

It is not just a ‘throw away’ prediction.

Reporter Osman, who covers the English Premier League (EPL) in England, has a deep understanding of the foreign players of the Korean national team, such as Son Heung-min (Tottenham) and Hwang Hee-chan (Wolverhampton).

He is very familiar with the Korean sports reporter who covers the EPL in England, so he knows a lot about Korean football in general.

Reporter Osman said, “Son Heung-min is probably the best player in Korea and Ghana,” but “but I think Ghana is ahead in terms of overall power.”

“Hwang Hee-chan, who showed an impressive performance at Wolverhampton last season, is also a player who can trouble Ghana,” he said. “However, it is fortunate for Ghana that he is not in perfect condition due to injury.”

Reporter Osman saw that Korea could defeat Portugal.

He said, “Korea was able to beat Uruguay well enough. It was just a draw because of bad luck.”

Meanwhile, most of the reporters from other countries such as Korea, Portugal, and Uruguay are in the press room on the training ground in Ghana. Ghanaian journalists are few and far between.

Reporter Osman said only about five Ghanaian reporters came to cover the event.

When asked why, reporter Osman laughed, saying, “Ghana loves football, but it doesn’t have the ability to send as many reporters to the World Cup as Korea does.”
