[자막뉴스] Taiwan’s president ‘flaws’ at China’s remark that ‘US troops are stationed’

Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen said in an interview with US CNN that US troops are stationed in Taiwan.

Although the number was not large, it was the first official announcement by the Taiwanese President of the presence of U.S. forces.

President Tsai also said he really believes the US military will help defend Taiwan.

Last week, President Biden also said that he was prepared to defend Taiwan if China invaded Taiwan.

President Biden reiterated this week that the promise to Taiwan is as hard as a rock.

It was said openly in the presence of Premier Li Keqiang at a videoconference between East Asian leaders.

However, China countered that the US was harming the peace in the Taiwan Strait.

He also made clear his opposition to the presence of U.S. forces in Taiwan.

China sent its first attack helicopter to Taiwan’s air defense identification zone this week.

They’re training for the amphibious operation in Taiwan, and they’re trying to increase the level of pressure.

An official report from the U.S. Department of Defense states that the number of U.S. troops stationed in Taiwan is mainly marines.

However, some special forces have also been stationed there to train the Taiwanese military, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Although the number is estimated to be small, the US-China conflict over the Taiwan issue is escalating as the fact of the US military presence becomes official.
