We will see a catastrophe with the invasion of Ukraine”…to the reality of a global crisis

The food crisis that originated in Ukraine caused by the Russian invasion would have a huge global impact.

The United Nations World Food Program warned that the disaster would be more than catastrophic, especially in the Middle East and Africa, where Ukraine is 80% dependent on food.

It has already cut the ration of 8 million people in Yemen alone and feared it could soon be zero.

Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman also criticized the situation for not having any sanctions on the food problem, saying that global food security is serious.

Ukraine, the fifth largest exporter of wheat in the world, produces so many grains that it is called the world’s bread factory.

However, due to the war, the spring sowing time was missed, and the crop yield was cut by half compared to last year.

In particular, many men working in agriculture are killed or injured, and setbacks are inevitable for a considerable period of time.

Russia, the world’s largest wheat exporter, said it would halt exports of major grains by the end of June, and the food crisis is at its worst.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations predicts that if the war continues, the number of malnourished people worldwide could rise to 13 million by next year.
