The police caught many people operating illegal accommodation using officetels in the Gwangalli Beach area of Busan.
More than 100 people have been caught in the last 5 months, and they have made illegal profits through accommodation sharing platforms.

He was caught operating an illegal hosting establishment using officetel nearby.
In this way, a large number of people illegally operating accommodation using accommodation sharing platforms were caught in the Gwangalli Beach area of Busan.
Only 14 people were caught in the 5 months from last June.
More than 160 offices in 16 buildings were decorated as hotels or motels to receive guests.

A suspect used 11 offices to earn 1.1 billion won for 1 year and 4 months, and there was a case where he earned 300 million won in half a year by delivering 21 guest rooms.
As it was operated illegally without reporting, taxes were not paid and fire fighting facilities were not properly equipped.
As civil complaints erupt due to consumer unrest and littering problems, the competent authorities collectively respond by imposing taxes along with administrative measures based on investigation data.

The police said they plan to request changes to related laws so that only companies that have registered or reported business can register on the accommodation sharing platform.
