Choi Fire Bridge, 30, who was looking for survivors at a factory in Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do, which caught fire on the afternoon of the 31st of last month, was suddenly crushed by the debris of a fallen roof.

Fire Bridge Choi suffered burns to more than half of his body and was taken to a burn hospital in Seoul.

It is a serious injury that requires multiple surgeries, but as the amount of blood donation decreased due to the spread of COVID-19, it was difficult to obtain the blood needed for surgery.

The Fire Department has sent a notice to the fire departments in the province asking for blood donations to help Choi Fire School.

Firefighters in the headquarters continued to donate blood, and other local firefighters who heard the news also contributed.

As the story became known through the community and SNS, certifications of citizens who participated in the blood donation were also raised.

In all, more than 460 people willingly shared their blood for Choi Fire Regiment.

With the help of fellow firefighters and citizens, Fire Bridge Choi was able to get on the operating table.

A situation in which several surgeries are required in the future for the treatment of whole-body burns.

The fire department said that blood cannot be stored indefinitely, so continuous attention is needed, such as designated blood donations in time for surgery.
