Regarding the declaration of an end to the Korean War, which is being pursued by the Korean government, China has expressed its intention to actively participate as a party to the armistice agreement.

Chinese Ambassador to Korea Xing Haiming appeared on YTN News today and said, “China is a signatory to the armistice agreement.

When asked about when President Xi Jinping’s visit to South Korea would take place, he replied, “It is difficult to say when this will be possible because China has different quarantine policies.”

Regarding the supply and demand shortage of urea from China, he emphasized, “It was a strict internal management procedure in China, but I did not think that it would have such a big impact on Korea,” he said. “I will help Korea as much as possible.”

Regarding the recent review by the United States and the United Kingdom of diplomatically boycotting the Beijing Winter Olympics in February next year, he criticized, saying, “The Olympics are a sacred event and should not be politicized.”
