The 76th Liberation Day celebration, which was held under the theme of ‘Keep the Road Preserved’, was held on the smallest scale ever in consideration of the COVID-19 situation.
The number of participants was reduced to one-tenth compared to last year, which was reduced in the aftermath of the corona virus, and the ceremony and performances for award recipients for independence were omitted.
A salute to the national flag and national anthem sung by Tokyo Olympic heroes were also prepared as a video.
In the pre-recorded video commemorative speech, Chairman Kim Won-woong emphasized the pro-Japanese liquidation.
Chairman Kim pointed out that pro-Japanese people live in aggression from generation to generation, but descendants of independence activists are still living in poverty.
[김원웅 / 광복회장 : 친일파 없는 대한민국, 이런 대한민국을 만들고 싶습니다. 이는 독립운동가의 통한이 담긴 참된 애국의 기도입니다.]
President Moon Jae-in once again emphasized his will to overcome the Corona crisis at the Liberation Day celebration at the end of his term in office.
It also set a specific goal that 70% of the population would be vaccinated by October.
At the same time, he emphasized the dream of a new Korea that will lead the post-corona era.
[문제인 / 대통령 : 이제 선진국이 된 우리는 다시 꿈꿉니다. 평화롭고 품격 있는 선진국이 되고 싶은 꿈입니다.]
President Moon said that unless the world responds together, the corona or climate crisis cannot be overcome.
