Rep. Shim Sang-jung, the presidential candidate of the Justice Party, proposed the introduction of a four-day workweek system and equal pay for irregular workers as his first pledge.

Rep. Shim held a press conference and announced that he would repeal the Labor Standards Act and enact the ‘Basic Act for Working Citizens’, saying that the old labor laws that do not reflect the changes of the times should be abolished.

In detail, they promised to convert to a four-day work week, to introduce a system of choosing working hours by life cycle, to introduce equal pay for non-regular workers, and to institutionalize a job security system for all citizens.

Rep. Shim emphasized that he would enact a law on the maximum wage called the ‘Fat Cat Act’, and emphasized that the wages of lawmakers should not exceed five times the minimum wage and executives of public institutions should not exceed seven times.

Furthermore, he vowed to become a president who opens a country where labor is dignified, saying that he will create good jobs, jobs with leisure, and jobs with labor unions.
