Until the last moment of his tenure, he is expected to reiterate his will to take care of the people’s livelihood and deliver the core messages of ‘recovery of daily life’, ‘national unity’ and ‘a leading nation’.

In last year’s New Year’s address, President Moon Jae-in emphasized recovery from COVID-19, inclusion, and leap forward.

For this reason, President Moon plans to emphasize the importance of national unity to overcome the crisis in his final New Year’s address during his tenure as well as reveal his will to do his best to achieve a complete recovery of daily life.
Next, we plan to emphasize our will to move forward as a leading country by breaking away from the image of a chasing country and solidifying our position in areas where we can excel.
He is also planning to reveal his thoughts about the peace process on the Korean Peninsula, but rather than making a new proposal, it seems likely that he will not give up hope until the end and will make efforts to declare an end to the war and improve inter-Korean relations.
After President Moon has finished his New Year’s address, he will also hold a New Year’s greeting meeting by videotaping the 5th department, representatives of the opposition parties, and representatives of the business community.
The Blue House said that this New Year’s address would also include a message related to the presidential election, which is approaching in about 60 days.
President Moon is expected to emphasize that he hopes this election will be an opportunity to present the values of hope and an integrated future to the people rather than conflict and division.
