[정치]Wen “We will provide support to countries that lack vaccines for a fair distribution of vaccines.”

President Moon Jae-in, attending the G20 summit in Rome, Italy, emphasized the need to strengthen support for vaccine-shortage countries for equitable distribution of vaccines.

President Moon made the following remarks at the G20 summit, ‘International Economy and Health Session’ this afternoon in our time on the morning of the 30th local time.

He also explained that the vaccination gap between countries is too large, and that it is necessary to act quickly, recognizing that it is difficult to recover completely without increasing the vaccination rate together.

He added that South Korea will fulfill its commitment to donate $200 million of COVAX for equitable distribution of the vaccine and will continue to provide direct assistance to countries with vaccine shortages.

In addition, as a global vaccine manufacturing hub, we promised not only to further increase our production capacity, but also to share our expedited vaccination experience with all countries.

President Moon also emphasized that policy coordination is essential for an inclusive recovery of the global economy, emphasizing support measures for low-income countries and strengthening global macro-policy coordination.

In addition, he mentioned that the OECD reached an agreement to introduce a digital tax a while ago, and said that it is necessary to speed up the preparation of common norms in response to the transition to the digital economy.
