As the Democratic Party of Korea has begun to ‘make one team’ after overcoming the aftereffects of the primary, attention is paying attention to the meeting schedule between President Moon Jae-in and candidate Lee Jae-myung.
Earlier, the Blue House immediately expressed its intention to accept the interview, but the meeting is expected to take place only after the aftershocks in the party’s primary election have subsided and the Gyeonggi-do National Inspectorate over the Daejang-dong suspicion is over.

In September 2012, at the request of then-Saenuri Party presidential candidate Park Geun-hye, an exclusive meeting between then-President Lee Myung-bak and candidate Park was held.
The two discussed issues of livelihood together, signaling reconciliation in the pro-Park conflict that has continued since the 2007 primary.
Democratic Party presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung also requested a meeting with President Moon Jae-in shortly after winning the party’s primary.
As President Moon maintains an approval rating of around 40% at the end of his term, the ‘doubt mind’ is still valid for the ruling party candidate.
In the 2017 presidential primary, as a candidate who has been at odds with the ‘pro-moon’ supporters, when and in what form he will meet with President Moon is inevitably important.

As the Blue House, it is necessary to arrange a meeting for a flawless finish as the rising trend of the ruling party candidate is linked to favorable public opinion toward the current government.
However, the storm after the party election, which was even called the ‘Myeong-nak Daejeon’, has not yet subsided.
A high-ranking official at the Blue House said that internally the party would prioritize organizing the primary, and after creating a ‘one team’ atmosphere, the meeting with President Moon would be the ‘vertex’.
Moreover, on the 18th and 20th, Lee will attend the Gyeonggi state audit.
As the people’s power has even set up a ‘Daejang-dong Suspicion Report Center’ and foretold a wave of offensive, the meeting is expected to be held after the National Inspection.
The Blue House dismissed the opposition criticism of the president’s political intervention in the meeting with Lee as “according to the candidate’s request and precedent.”
When a request for an interview came in, he revealed that refusal to do so would lead to another political interpretation, implying that a meeting with Lee would be held as soon as the National Assembly was finished.
