[종합] Coupang and China sellers killing domestic manufacturers of ‘PD Notebook’ and damaging consumers – Reporter Jeong Seon-young

In ‘PD Handbook’, a accusation was drawn against the actual situation of Chinese sellers in Coupang.

A merchant who made and sold bags in Dongdaemun was making a profit by entering Coupang. However, one day, the good reviews change one by one, and he finds another item that looks exactly like his bag. The bag had the same design, but was made by a Chinese manufacturer.

The crew showed the original author the bags sold by Chinese sellers. As soon as the producer saw the bag, he said, “I almost cursed. It’s so bad.” He clicked his tongue. Products made in China and products made by themselves are completely different in appearance. It didn’t stand properly, and some components were missing, but I even wrote the original author’s logo as it was.

The double-sided bottle is also in the same condition. Chinese sellers take the place of the item winner too easily, but the Korean original creators are unable to take any action. The price of equipment used to take detailed pages to explain products to consumers alone is close to 6 million won. It takes about a week to create a detail page. Chinese products were used by stealing even the detail pages.

The original author of the double-sided bottle said, “This is really nonsense.” A representative of a shopping mall that sells baby swimwear said, “Chinese sellers take them away overnight. It’s cumbersome. Our livelihoods depend on it,” he said. They said there was a time when they had a shocking experience where sales went down to zero overnight.

In a situation where even a review is lost, the original author said, “This is the most regrettable fact.” The original authors told Chinese sellers that this was stealing a Korean brand, but they only gave a mechanical response such as ‘Have a nice day’.

Chinese sellers were becoming item winners by matching items regardless of item. They were based in Weihai, China. The crew went there to find out what the hell was going on in Weihai, Shandong. After seeing the address the seller had left in Coupang, the production team was at a loss for words when they saw the government office that existed there.

The same goes for other addresses. I couldn’t find a seller at the address written on Coupang. However, the production team was able to find a place related to Coupang after asking questions. It was an academy designed to become a Coupang seller. An employee of the Coupang seller training company said, “You can do Can Mai. It is to sell products that sell well in Coupang. There is no need to select a product separately.” It is shocking that he can earn up to 3.7 to 7.4 million won once the system is stabilized.

It even has a program that automatically translates the Korean in the image, so it was very easy to imitate the detailed page. According to Korea, the sales academy had a very large scale in Weihai, and the number of students was a whopping 500 to 1,000.

Mo Jae-seong, who bought a mouse from a famous brand, later found out that it was a fake. To Coupang, “Please tell me whether it is genuine or fake. If it’s a fake, I’ll have to be compensated.” Mo Jae-seong said he was angry at Coupang’s efforts to bury it. Mo Jae-seong said, “It destroys the original manufacturer, damages consumers, and is extremely irresponsible.”

MBC’s current affairs/culture program ‘PD Notebook’ is broadcast every Tuesday at 10:30 PM.
