Liverpool defeated Arsenal 2-0 in the second leg of the ‘2021-22 Carabao Cup (League Cup)’ semifinals held at the Emirates Stadium in London on the 21st at 5:45 am (Korean time). After a 0-0 draw in the first leg, they won the away victory and secured a ticket to the final. The final opponent to meet at Wembley Stadium is Chelsea, who overcame Tottenham.

Arsenal left Lacazette to score. Martinelli, Oedegaard, Smith-Law and Saka played in the second line, placing Loconga in the defensive midfield. The four back placed Tierney, Gabriel, White and Domias, and the goalkeeper was Ramsdale.

Liverpool pulled out Gordon, Firmino and Giogu’s Jota three-top. Jones, Fabinho and Henderson coordinated offense and defense in midfield. The defense was Robertson, Van Dijk, Matiff and Alexander-Arnold. The goal was kept by Callacher.

It was tense as both teams desperately needed an opening goal. Arsenal shook the Liverpool back line with Lacazette as the center. He counterattacked quickly, but was caught offside. The lead was Liverpool. In the 19th minute, Jota grabbed the ball from the left flank and advanced, overcoming all Arsenal’s pressure and scoring a wonderful goal.

Arsenal’s Smith-Law and Odegaard were threatening shots. Lacazette also aimed at Liverpool’s net but could not shake the net and earned only one warning. Liverpool blocked Arsenal’s attack with a pretty solid defense.

At the beginning of the second half, Klopp removed Matiff and replaced Konate. Arsenal aimed to equalize from set pieces, including corner kicks. Liverpool made an additional substitution in the 18th minute of the second half. Minamino was put in to change the attack.

Arsenal changed the midfield combination in the 29th minute of the second half with Nketia and a party input. Liverpool did not miss a single counterattack. Jota received a penetration pass from Alexander-Arnold and finished with a sensational lob. As a result of the video review system (VAR), the offside decision was corrected and the goal was recognized as a goal.

Perfectly poured cold water on Arsenal’s pursuit. Liverpool managed the game leisurely with Jota’s multi-goal. Williams changed the attack pattern with the Minamino Zero Top. The party who came in as a substitute was sent off due to accumulated warnings. Arsenal did not score a goal and it ended in Liverpool’s victory.
