The ex-dividend season for ETFs is approaching. Fubon Investment Trust announced today (1) that the Fubon Special High Dividend 30 (00900-TW) income distribution period will be announced. According to Yuan estimates, the yield rate this time reaches 10.2%, and investors can participate in this dividend distribution as long as they hold or buy before August 15 at the latest.

Fubon Investment Trust stated that the main source of this dividend is the cash dividends from the ETF’s ex-dividend participation in constituent stocks since its establishment at the end of 2021 to the end of July. Referring to the distribution of dividends and income from the historical back-testing of the ETF tracking index, July is the peak of the annual index dividend payment. Considering that the peak ex-dividend season for Taiwan stocks will enter the second half and the number of files for which the latest index constituents have not yet gone ex-dividend, although the frequency of ETF dividend distribution is an annual 4 times, but the amount of dividends will be different each time. The subsequent dividends will be different due to the dividend status of ETF participating constituents. The dividend rate will also be affected by changes in price and single digits. People pay attention.

Yang Bangheng, manager of Fubon Specially Selected High Dividend 30, pointed out that since the end of June this year, the total scale of high dividend-related ETFs in the Taiwan stock market has grown by 125.4% in the past year, and the proportion of the overall Taiwan stock ETF has risen from 27% to 39% , the growth rate of Taiwan stock ETFs related to non-high dividends is only 29.2%, and the growth is even faster, showing that Taiwan stock high dividend investment has become a prominent study in the Taiwan investment market in recent years.

Yang Bangheng further pointed out that although 00900 has three index adjustments every year, the turnover rate is relatively high, but in order to be close to the actual dividend distribution of Taiwan stocks, the index adjustment period is April, July and December every year, and the undistributed but The high-dividend stocks to be allocated can not only grasp the ex-dividend market in the peak season, but also the stock income of the quarterly allocation and half-year allocation will not be missed at the same time, making good use of Taiwan stocks with the advantages of many high-dividend-yielding stocks.

With the characteristics of ex-dividend date being considered in the selection of index constituent stocks, as of the end of July this year, the constituent stocks of the index portfolio have participated in the ex-dividend of 48 stocks, and 25 of the constituent stocks after the adjustment in April participated in the ex-dividend; the July investment group ended at the end of July There are also 17 stocks that have participated in the ex-dividend, and the constituent stocks that have not yet participated in the ex-dividend will continue to participate in the ex-dividend after August. After the semi-annual distribution company announces the next ex-dividend date, the index still has the opportunity to participate in the ex-dividend. Looking at the ex-dividend status of the index constituent stocks this year, there is not much difference from the historical backtesting in the past, and the increase in cash dividends issued by Taiwanese listed OTC companies this year compared with previous years will contribute to the source of the index’s dividend rate.

Yang Bangheng believes that based on fundamentals and evaluation factors, under the condition that the evaluation of Taiwan stocks has been greatly revised, from the perspective of long-term investment, regular fixed quota, and regular fixed quota, it is a good investment time to achieve the “smile curve”. Take advantage of the current relative lows in Taiwan stocks to participate actively.
