We will continue to present the news about the typhoon ‘Nan Madol’.

The typhoon, which left strong winds and rain in Jeju and Yeongnam, flew into the East Sea this afternoon.

A strong wind blew since last night, causing tensions across the country.

Although the damage was not as great as the ‘Hin Nam-no’ that came two weeks ago, there were casualties and damage to property in several places.

First of all, from time to time a reporter summarized the situation of the casualties.

Coastal rocks with high waves.

Members of the Coast Guard tied ropes to each other’s bodies to save, but it is difficult to take even one step.

Even the other members of the Coastguard who were helping from behind are pushed by the strong waves and fall into the sea.

At around 7:50pm last night, a report was received that one fisherman had gone missing on the beach next to the Yongdam Coastal Road in Jeju City.

“The moon wave keeps hitting it, but it’s still there. After hitting it 3 or 4 times, I can’t see anyone…”

It is estimated that the wind is very strong due to the influence of the typhoon, and the waves are pushed up close to 4m high, and the fishermen are swept away by the waves.

When the rescue operation for almost three hours did not bring results, a firefighting helicopter was sent to rescue the missing person in a situation where strong winds and rain poured down.

But a fisherman in his 60s died, and three Coast Guard officers were also injured in the rescue process.

“People couldn’t access it. I tried several times, but it didn’t work, so I had no choice but to mobilize a firefighting helicopter.”

At the time of the accident, a coastal accident warning was issued in Jeju, and access to the coast was strictly controlled, but it was understood that some fishermen were fishing on the rocks.

A coastal hazard warning was issued for the third day today in Jeju, where waves of up to 7.1 meters rose on the coast and strong winds of 88 kilometers per hour were seen, but tourists were caught taking pictures with the high waves in the background. .

Meanwhile, at Mangsang Beach in Donghae-si, Gangwon-do, a woman in her 40s disappeared after being swept away by waves, and the Coast Guard is conducting a search operation.
