An executive-level reporter at the JoongAng Ilbo, who was found to be involved in money transactions with Kim Man-bae, resigned.
The executive explained that he originally lent Kim 80 million earned in 2018, and then got 90 million back with interest a year later.
However, an internal investigation revealed that he received an additional 100 million in his bank account in June 2020.
The JoongAng Ilbo accepted the resignation without any disciplinary procedures.
An executive-level reporter for Hankyoreh Newspaper, who borrowed 900 million won in a check from Mr Kim, was also fired earlier.
