Progressive organizations such as the National Federation of Trade Unions (KCTU) are holding a people’s rally today (15th) at the cultural yard in Yeouido Park, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.

The Federation of Korean Trade Unions (KCTU) announced through a notice during the day that “the people’s general uprising will be held from 2 pm at the Yeouido Cultural Madang.”

Rally participants scattered all over Seoul are also gathering in Yeouido Park after receiving the same notice.

About 10,000 people are expected to attend today’s rally.

The police also moved to Yeouido at once to block large-scale gatherings. We plan to operate temporary checkpoints in the downtown area and Yeouido area to block tour buses and broadcast and stage vehicles for the purpose of participating in the assembly, while mobilizing a total of 136 companies to respond to the assembly.
