Makkah: 11 robots have been deployed to disinfect Makkah’s Masjid-ul-Haram during the Hajj season. Robots will automatically disinfect all areas of the mosque and analyze hygiene requirements to protect pilgrims and worshipers from virus threats. Once the programming of the mosque layout is loaded into their systems, the robots will clean the mosque according to attendance. Each robot will operate for five to eight hours without human intervention. Each round can carry up to 23.8 liters of sanitizer needed to disinfect an area of ​​600 square meters. The robots can travel three kilometers without human support. The main feature of the robots is ‘front detection system’ to avoid obstacles.
