123.8 billion won paid to 36,000 small business owners on the first day of application for loss compensation

In the third quarter of this year, more than 120 billion won was paid to 36,000 people on the 27th, the first day of application for loss compensation for small businesses due to the quarantine measures against the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

According to the Ministry of SMEs and Startups on the 28th, 123.8 billion won was paid to 36,688 small businesses and small business owners as of 8 a.m. on the same day.

Claims for loss compensation were received from 8 am the day before.

For the first three days (27th ~ 29th) of expedited compensation application, compensation is paid 4 times a day, and if you apply before 4pm, you can receive it on the same day.

Considering that 310,000 people were paid on the first day, it is 12%.

After confirming the amount of expedited compensation, there are 47,491 people waiting to apply for payment.

It seems that the number of payers on the first day was not as high as expected as the previous day, the website dedicated to loss compensation did not access itself or was disconnected after being connected.

An official from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups explained, “Currently, the system is operating smoothly without any problems.”
