/Pogled.info/ An exhibition, on the occasion of the 145th anniversary of the birth of the “father” of the Bulgarian political caricature Academician Alexander Bozhinov, was opened in Unibit by the rector Prof. Dr. Irena Peteva, by the chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. Dr. ik .n. Stoyan Denchev and from the dean of FBKN Prof. Dr. Hristina Bogova. Illustrations, paintings and sketches by the artist, stored in the Scientific Archive of the BAS, researched and selected by PhD student Denitsa Mizinska are presented.
A public lecture to students about the personality of the great Bulgarian artist was given by Mrs. Darina Ilieva, who presented Bozhinov’s family ties with Aleko Konstantinov and Prof. Ivan Shishmanov, but also the creative friendships with Elin Pelin, Chudomir, and Konstantin Shtarkelov.
The study of the personality and creativity of Alexander Bozhinov is the center of a research project: “Between the tragic and the comic – Alexander Bozhinov (cartoonist, military photographer and writer)”, KP-06 H40/2, of the Scientific Research Fund.
