MOSCOW: At least 15 people have been killed after a plane crashed in Russia’s Tatars region, the RIA news agency has reported. Emergency services said the L-410 had parachute jumpers on board. Seven people were rescued.

The accident happened at 9.23 am. The Ministry of Health said the condition of the seven people who were rescued and admitted to the hospital was critical. Russia’s aviation safety standards have been revised, but accidents involving older aircraft are a regular occurrence.

In the last week of September, a plane crashed in the Khabarovsk region of Russia, killing all on board. The N-26 Russian plane crashed. The plane, carrying six people, was missing from radar. The wreckage of the plane was found near the Sky Resort in Khabarovax.
