(Washington = Yonhap News) Reporter Lee Sang-heon and Kim Kyung-hee = US President Joe Biden said on the 7th (local time), “If China threatens our sovereignty, we will act to defend our country.”
President Biden said in his second State of the Union Address at a joint meeting of the House of Representatives that day, “Today we are in the strongest position to compete with China or anyone else in the world in decades.”
President Biden said, “I promise to cooperate with China if the interests of America and the interests of the world come first.” I will act on your behalf, and I did.”
President Biden said, “We will have to unite to win the competition with China,” and he said, “We have faced serious challenges around the world, but democracy has grown stronger over the past two years.”
President Biden also mentioned a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping and affirmed that “we seek competition, not conflict.”
