Yoon Jun (62, Judicial Research and Training Institute, 16th district) Seoul High Court Chief Judge Suh Kyung-hwan (57th, 21st district) Seoul High Court Presiding Judge Son Bong-ki (58th, 22nd district) Daegu District Presiding Judge of Court, Eom Sang-pil (55th, 23rd class) Seoul High Court Presiding Judge, Kwon Yeongjun (53rd 25th class) Seoul National University School of Law Professor, Park Soon-yeong (57th class 25th) Seoul High Court Judge, Shin Sook -hee (54th district 25th) standing member of the Sentencing Committee (high court judge), Jeong Gye-seon (54th 27th district) Director of the Seoul Southern District Court The judge put his name on the list of candidates for the proposal.
After meeting on the afternoon of the 30th, the Supreme Court Justice Candidate Recommendation Committee recommended 8 out of 37 Supreme Court justice candidates as candidates to be recommended to Chief Justice Kim Myung-soo.
The recommendations committee explained, “We wanted to recommend as candidates for the Supreme Court those who have human rights insights that encompass the various values of our society and a strong sense of mission for the independence of the judiciary.”
Chief Justice Kim plans to reveal the major rulings of the recommended candidates and details of the work they have done so far, and after gathering opinions inside and outside the court by June 2, select two candidates and propose appointments.
