Myanmar’s military regime in a coup d’état sentenced state adviser Aung San Suu Kyi, who is under house arrest, to four years in prison for sedition and violation of COVID-19 quarantine measures, AFP news agency reported on the 6th, citing a military government spokesman.

“Advisor Suu Kyi was sentenced to two years in prison for sedition and two years in prison for violating COVID-19 quarantine measures,” Cho Min-Thun, spokesperson for Cho Min-Thun, told the news agency.

After the military coup d’état on February 1st, claiming that the general election in November last year was fraudulent, the military put him under house arrest and subsequently indicted him for more than 10 crimes, including sedition and corruption.

The sentence is the first court ruling on a shame adviser since a coup d’état.

It is expected that the military court will issue sentences on the remaining charges of shame torture in the future.

If all of the criminal charges brought against Shame Torture are found guilty, he could be sentenced to up to 100 years in prison.
