Prosecutors have sought a prison sentence for Yoo Si-min, former chairman of the Roh Moo-hyung Foundation, who was charged with defaming the honor of Han Dong-hoon, vice president of the Judicial Research and Training Institute.

At the trial of former Chairman Yoo, who was held on the 7th by Judge Cheol-min Jeong, the 7th independent criminal case at the Seoul Western District Court, the prosecution said, “The defendant appeared on the radio without any basis and made a false statement, which greatly affected the independence, fairness, and trust of the prosecution’s investigation.” He was sentenced to one year in prison.

“Even though the victim (Chief Han) suffered serious defamation damage due to the defendant’s remarks, there was no apology, no agreement until the trial, and consideration of the victim’s wish to punish the accused,” he explained.
