This Saturday (20 April) marks one year from the untimely death of Avicii, Tim Bergling's real name, which is just 28 years old.
Since then, nearly 2 million Swedish DJs and producer records have been supported by fans – with 1.9m total combined sales across its single and album, including equivalent stream sales.
Avicii's unbelievable songs took the world first in early 2010, and his tracks are still spun regularly in clubs around the world.
During his lifetime, Avicii had two UK No 1 singles with Wake Me Up and I couldn't be The One, plus seven Top 10 Top. Both DJ studio albums reached Chart of Top Official Albums 10. See Official Charts Avicii history.
SOS Avicii is a new one after the death – which features songs by Aloe Blacc, which played on Wake Me Up. The post-death album, Tim, will be on 6th June, as part of a further 15 songs previously unavailable.
In the UK, Avicii's songs have featured 239 million plays in the last 12 months, making it 916 million full-time.
Wake Me Up, the largest of Avicii's largest, continues to be the most popular, with 310,000 combined sales this year, including just over 47 million streams. The same country commanded EDM at Number 1 in 2013, staying at the best location for three weeks and finishing as the third best-selling single that year. All-time UK streams are 168 million.
In the week after his death, Wake Me Up made the most impact on the Official Singles Charter, re-entering at Number 26.
Secondly Lonely Together is ft. Rita Ora issued a few months before his death, bringing up to 250,000 combined sales since last April including 29 million streams. It strikes the Level 3 Levels, with 193,000 combined sales.
Sandro Cavazza places fifth place despite being one of the 40 lowest ranked singles, peaking at Number 32 in 2017. By contrast, almost all of the songs in the Top 10 were at the top of Number 6 or higher, other than Required (10) reached Number 14.
In the meantime, I couldn't have Be the One with producer Nicky Romero and there are songs not accredited by Noonie Bao. The first number returned by the producer back in 2013, debating at the top and spending a total of 13 weeks in the Top 40.
