Rep. Yang Kyung-sook (Democratic Party, Planning and Finance Committee) announced on the 11th that as a result of analyzing data from the National Tax Service, the tax collection cost per 100 won of tax collected last year was 0.63 won.
The tax collection cost per 100 won of the tax collected is the total tax collection cost of the National Tax Service divided by the collected tax amount and multiplied by 100, and is an index that can confirm the efficiency of tax collection work of the tax authorities.
According to the National Tax Service, the amount of tax collected last year was 277.27 trillion won, and the amount spent by the National Tax Service was 1.739.673 trillion won.
Considering that the National Tax Service had a quota of 21,84 last year, the amount of tax collected per employee of the National Tax Service is 13,737 billion won, and the tax collection fee is 86 million won.
The tax collection cost per 100 won of tax collected decreased from 0.65 won in 2016 to 0.62 won in 2017 and 0.58 won in 2018. However, it increased again to 0.60 won in 2019, and continued to increase for the second year to 0.63 won in 2020.
