24 deaths; Fear without exception | Heavy rain | Rain Havoc

Thiruvananthapuram / Kottayam: Heavy rains have eased for the time being but the damage is still there. Death toll rises to 24 In Kottayam district alone, 13 people died. Nine deaths were reported in Idukki and one each in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode districts. The search is on for 2 persons who went missing in Idukki Kokkayar. One person also went missing in Thiruvananthapuram.

The bodies of Ottalangal (Vattalakkunnel) Martin (Roy-47) and their sons Sneha (13) and Sandra (9) who went missing in a landslide were found at Kavali in Mundakkayam Koottikkal, Kottayam. This family is gone. The bodies of Martin’s wife, another daughter and mother were found Saturday. The bodies of Joby’s wife Sonia (45), son Alan (14), Panthalattil Mohanan’s wife Sarasamma (58) and Mundakassery Venu’s wife Roshni (48) were also found at Plappally Attuchal.
