2nd Foreign Ministers of Korea, US and Japan Concerned about enacting North Korea’s nuclear policy… Firm response in case of nuclear test

The three foreign ministers reaffirmed on the 22nd (local time) that North Korea will respond strongly and decisively in the event of a nuclear test in relation to the possibility of North Korea’s seventh nuclear test.

Foreign Minister Jin Park, US Secretary of State Tony Blincoln, and Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi adopted the following statement after their foreign ministerial meeting in New York on the same day, the State Department said in a press release.

“They express serious concerns about North Korea’s escalating tensions and sending unsettling messages about its nuclear use, including the adoption of new laws related to its nuclear policy,” they said in a joint statement.

They emphasized the importance of working together to achieve the goal of denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and condemning North Korea’s multiple launches of ballistic missiles in violation of UN Security Council sanctions resolutions.
