2nd supplementary budget of the transition committee, submitted to the National Assembly after the inauguration of the former government

Regarding the ‘Second Supplementary Budget (Supplementary Budget) Plan for Corona 19 Damage Compensation, etc.’ on the 31st, the Presidential Transition Committee said, “The work on the supplementary budget is led by the transition committee, and the supplementary budget bill is submitted (to the National Assembly) after the Yoon Seok-yeol government is inaugurated. I will,” he said. In other words, it is expected to be submitted to the National Assembly in mid-May at the earliest.


Kyeong-ho Chu, secretary of the Planning and Coordination Division of the transition committee, briefed at the office of the transition committee in Tongui-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul on the same day and said, “The direction, content, scale, and submission period of the supplementary budget are solely determined by the Yun Seok-yeol government and proceeded.”



“If the current government submits (the second supplementary budget) and seems to do it, of course we have to ask the current government and act upon it, but the final thing is to submit an additional budget to the National Assembly in the name of the Yun Seok-yeol government,” said Chu.



He said, “In relation to supplementary budget financing, expenditure restructuring, the issuance of deficit government bonds, and the impact on the financial soundness of the financial market are all interconnected.” He declined to comment on specific details, such as the size of the supplementary budget, financing plans, and details of major projects.



Regarding the ’50 trillion won loss compensation for the self-employed and small business owners’ mentioned by President-elect Yoon during the presidential election, he only said, “Please wait for the results of the work.”
