TAMPA, Fla. (FOX 13) – Not surprisingly anyone who is stuck in traffic in Florida will hear that many drivers are aggressive in the Sunshine State.
A new study by GasBuddy shows that three of Florida's urban areas scored in the top 20 cities in the United States with the most aggressive drivers.
Orlando is the only city of Florida to break the top 10, joining at No. 7 on the list. The Miami-Fort Lauderdale area is classified as No. 17, and Tampa-St. Petersburg joined at No. 19.
The study used data from the top 30 urban areas by population and calculated the frequency of “aggressive events” including speeding, hard breaking and acceleration.
Researchers said drivers were 1.2 times more likely to deal with aggressive driving on a Friday than on Wednesday.
But if you think there are many aggressive drivers at Florida, be glad you are not in California, which had four cities in the top 10 only.
Los Angeles took the overall peak, and later Philadelphia and Sacramento, California.
