The number of confirmed cases of Omicron in Korea increased by 3 more today (5th), bringing the total to 12. All of them are confirmed cases related to the Incheon Church. And although it hasn’t been counted here yet, it was announced that a student at a university in Seoul has been diagnosed with Omicron. There are concerns about whether Omicron has spread beyond the Incheon church to the university district of Seoul.
By Yoon Jae-young, staff reporter.
The three newly confirmed cases of Omicron mutation today were all related to the Incheon Church.
They are the ‘acquaintance’ and ‘living roommate’ of the Uzbek man who picked up the pastor’s wife and the ‘person who came into contact at the restaurant’, and the former confirmed patient who came into contact with this Uzbek man.
Neither of these three had been vaccinated.
It is expected that the number of mutated cases will continue to increase in the future.
Epidemiologically, the number of confirmed cases that are highly likely to be omicron mutations increased by four today to 14.
This is the case if you attended the same worship service as an existing confirmed person, or were a member or contact.
They are being analyzed for mutations.
Today, this church also worshiped online.

Meanwhile, the possibility of further transmission increased as Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul announced that a student at the school was confirmed to be Omicron.
The school said, “The confirmed student attended classes on campus and visited the library for three days from the 29th of last month.”
This patient has not yet been included in the official government tally.
