American gymnast star Simone Biles was one of the 300 victims.

Olympic women’s gymnastics gold medalist Simone Biles shed tears while attending a U.S. Senate hearing on the 15th (local time), saying, “I was habitually sexually abused by my national team doctor, Lanny Nassar.”

Biles also raised his voice, saying, “I criticize NASA, as well as the system that made his crimes possible.”

The hearing was attended by female gymnasts including Biles, McKayla Maruni, Ali Reisman and Maggie Nichols. They testified in a furious tone, saying, “This kind of crime must not happen any more.”

While serving as the attending physician for the gymnastics team at Michigan State University, Nassar habitually raped and molested athletes. It is reported that more than 300 people were injured.

In 2018, he was appointed as the national team’s doctor, and it is known that he has shown magic to the national team players.

Nassar is currently serving a sentence of more than 300 years in prison after being found guilty of a crime through the ‘MeToo’ that was raised earlier. Hearings related to Nassar were held because the FBI knew about the case and left it unattended.

Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz said in a 119-page report that the FBI failed to respond quickly to allegations of sexual assault by Nassar. The FBI procrastinated even after being aware of the incident, and it is believed that there were 70 more victims before Nassar was arrested.

Biles also pointed out the FBI’s negligence.

Biles, who won four Olympic gold medals and five World Championships, introduced himself as a “victim of sexual abuse” and said, “Long before I reported that I was being sexually abused, the US gymnastics team and the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee told Nassar that I “I knew I was being sexually abused. The FBI didn’t even start investigating.”

“If these crimes harming children are allowed, the consequences will be very quick and serious,” Biles said.

“When I was 15 years old, I was raped by Nassar, and I thought I was going to die,” McKayla Maruni, a gold medalist at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, said. and considered it insignificant,” he said.

FBI Director Christopher Wray said that Nassar’s delay in prosecution and the suffering it caused “is deeply and deeply apologized” and that “the FBI will definitely remember this incident and will ensure that it does not happen again in the future.”
