NEW DELHI: Kerala Blasters will appeal against the Rs 4 crore fine imposed by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) for leaving the field during the ISL playoffs. It is hoped that this will reduce the amount of the penalty. It was a relief that there was no dismissal of the team or deduction of points for the next season as punishment. Coach Ivan Vukomanovic has been banned for 10 matches and fined five lakh rupees. It was believed that the coach would be banned for a season or two. It was a relief not to have it. Vukomanovic will not be present at the Super Cup starting at eight. But his tactics will be implemented on the team’s field. There are three games in the Supercup group. If the semi-final and final can be played, the five match ban will be waived. There are also AFC qualifiers. So the coach’s presence in the next ISL season can be ensured.
