CHARLESTON, W. Va. (WOWK) – The hope of Cece Brown is through his days. She lost her son, Ryan, on a heroine overdose in 2014. Since then, she and her husband have been working diligently to end the stigma associated with addiction, while helping them. those struggling to help recovery.
Over the last few years, the Browns Day proposed WV Overdose Awareness Awareness. The event, which takes place every year on the Capitol lands of West Virginia State, aims at the people who have lost their lives because of addiction.
This year's event will take place on Saturday, 24 August at 6 pm. This year's theme is “Hope in the Air”. Organizers will be collecting personal hygiene and toiletries products to support local recovery programs.
