52.7% of people passing Seoul National University’s regular high school… 1.5% increase from last year

A 4.1% increase in the ratio between arts and physical education schools… Picked up 1 North Korean defector in 3 years

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Joon-tae = About 53% of students who passed the general admissions at Seoul National University this year graduated from general high schools, an increase of 1.5 percentage points from last year.

Seoul National University announced on the 2nd that it has selected a total of 1,415 students in the 2023 regular freshman recruitment.

Among them, there are 1,206 general selections, 136 regional balanced selections, 68 equal opportunity selections of special screening II, and 5 equal opportunities selections of special screening III.

According to Seoul National University, regular high schools accounted for 52.7% of students who passed the regular admissions. It was followed by autonomous private secondary schools with 25.8%, arts and physical education secondary schools with 7.9%, gifted secondary schools with 3.3%, foreign language secondary schools and autonomous public secondary schools with 3.0% each, and science secondary schools with qualification exams. with 1.4% each.

The percentage of students who passed the secondary school general exam increased by 1.5 percentage points from 51.2% in the previous year.

Arts and physical education secondary schools increased by 4.1% points, and gifted secondary schools increased by 0.8% points.

On the other hand, autonomous public secondary schools decreased by 2.1 percentage points and qualification exams by 1.6 percentage points.

Science secondary schools decreased by 1.0 percentage points, foreign language secondary schools by 0.5 percentage points, and autonomous private secondary schools by 0.1 percentage points.

In the regular recruitment, equal opportunity selection special screening Ⅲ targeting special education recipients and North Korean defectors, 4 special education recipients and 1 North Korean defector passed. This is the first time in three years since the 2020 school year that North Korean defectors have been selected in the city.

The successful North Korean defectors came from the Department of Political Science and International Relations, College of Social Sciences.

In addition, one person was selected for special education from the English Education Department of the College of Education, the Music Department of the College of Music, the Piano Department of the College of Music, and the Free Majors Department.

Among the successful applicants for regular admission, the number of registered students was 41.1%, an increase of 2.7% compared to last year.

The number of reclaimers also increased by 1.6 percentage points from last year to 39.7%. Students with three or more scores fell by 2.9% to 17.6%.

The ratio of female students was 35.7% this year, down 1.3 percentage points from last year.

Successful candidates for regular admission must register between 9:00 am on the 7th and 4:00 pm on the 9th of this month.

Seoul National University plans to announce the successful applicants three times on the 10th, 14th, and 16th if there are unregistered students.
