53 metric tons of stolen bitumen seized in Sitakunda, 1 arrested

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a youth named Alamgir Hossain (30) along with 53 metric tons of stolen bitumen in Sitakunda of Chittagong. He was arrested on Friday (June 2) from an oil depot in South Sonaichari area of ​​Sitakunda police station on the Chittagong-Dhaka highway.

Alamgil Hossain is the son of Jasim Uddin of North Lampupara village of Ramgarh police station in hill district Khagrachhari.

RAB-7 informed this information in a press release sent to the media on Saturday (June 3) afternoon.

According to RAB-7, stolen bitumen has been stored in an oil depot in South Sonaichari area of ​​the upazila for illegal sale. Based on this information, Alamgir Hossain was arrested. Based on his information, 53 metric tons of stolen bitumen was seized from two trucks. The estimated value of seized stolen bitumen is Tk 45 lakh. Basically, the arrested Alamgir Hossain along with a few others had been buying bitumen illegally stolen from the vehicles of various government and private companies for a long time and selling it at a higher price. RAB said that a case has been filed against him at Sitakunda police station.
