5,599 more confirmed cases in Hong Kong, 398 imported cases, 10 more deaths

The epidemic in Hong Kong has slowed down and the Department of Health announced today (11th) that 5,599 new cases of new coronary pneumonia have been confirmed in Hong Kong, including 5,201 local cases and 398 imported cases. The Hospital Authority announced that 10 more patients had died today.

A total of 10,298 deaths have been recorded in the fifth wave of the epidemic so far.

Today, cases have been confirmed in 10 residential care homes for the elderly and 4 residential care homes for people with disabilities. A total of 23 residents and 1 member of staff have been diagnosed, and there are a total of 96 residents listed as close relations.

As for schools, 490 schools reported 725 cases, involving 618 students and 107 staff, and 8 classes were required to suspend classes for a week.
