More than 10,000 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 for two days in a row

According to each local government, including the Seoul Metropolitan Government, from 00:00 to 9pm on the same day, 5,880 people in 17 cities and provinces across the country were confirmed.

There were 3,641 fewer people than the previous day’s count (9,521). On weekends and holidays, the number of tests is reduced, and the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 tends to decrease.

However, there were 2,579 people on the 26th of last month (3,301 people) a week ago and 2,504 people on the 19th of last month (3,376 people) two weeks ago (3,376 people), respectively, showing a marked increase in the epidemic.

As there is still time until midnight, when the counting ends, the number of new confirmed cases to be announced on the 4th is expected to increase to around 6,000.

The COVID-19 epidemic slowed down until the end of last month, but has recently been showing a rebound trend.

From the 27th of last month, the number of daily new confirmed cases was 3,423 → 9,894 → 10,455 → 9,591 → 9,528 → 1715 → 1059, an average of 9 per day. 1,95 people were recorded, which is more than 2,000 more than the previous week (6.20~26·7,79 people).

As of 9 p.m. on the same day, 3,317 (56.4%) of new confirmed cases came from the metropolitan area and 2,563 (43.6%) from non-metropolitan areas.

By region, Gyeonggi 1,817, Seoul 1,161, Incheon 339, Gyeongnam 332, Gyeongbuk 313, Gangwon 235, Daejeon 213, Busan 184, Chungnam 168, Chungbuk 166, Jeju 165, Daegu 164 people, Jeonnam/Ulsan 148 each, Gwangju 144, Jeonbuk 126, and Sejong 57.
