59 foreign bank cards seized. What the boss of cybercriminals risks

A woman appeared before the Court for the Suppression of Economic Crimes and Terrorism (CRIET) this Thursday, March 30, 2023 on charges of cybercrime. According to information, the defendant is suspected of being the boss of a group of cybercriminals in Benin. During the hearing, the woman denied the charges against her, but the evidence found on her mobile phone and the 59 foreign bank cards seized from her house cast doubt on the judges.

The public prosecutor requested a 05-year prison sentence and a fine of 01 million CFA francs against the defendant. The verdict will be pronounced on April 27. The woman was arrested on March 1 by elements of the Central Cybercrime Repression Office (OCRC). This case is a reminder of the importance of fighting cybercrime, which can have serious consequences for individuals and businesses.
