’60s and 70s movie stars’ senior actress Choi Ji-hee dies… age 81

(Seoul = News 1) Reporter Ko Seung-ah = Senior actress Choi Ji-hee (real name Kim Kyung-ja) passed away on the 17th. 81 years old.

Choi Ji-hee passed away on the same day after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. It is known that the daughter has been taking care of her for over two years.

The deceased was born to Korean parents living in Osaka, Japan in 1940, and returned to Korea in 1946 after liberation. Starting with the 1958 film “Beautiful Evil Woman”, “Daughters of Kim Yak-guk”, “When Night Comes to Myeong-dong”, “Danbeol Shrine”, “Couple Change”, “Medal of a Man”, “Spring of Weeds”, and the drama “Land of Humans”, etc. In 1971, he took on the role of costume director in the movie ‘Golden of Keirasu’, and after that, he also worked as a fashion designer and engaged in various activities.

In particular, she won Best Supporting Actress at the 1st Blue Dragon Film Awards in 1964 and Best Supporting Actress at the 3rd Daejong Film Festival for her role in the movie ‘The Daughters of Kim Yak-guk’s House’. He also served as the president of the Senior Film Association.

In a phone call with News 1, actress Han Ji-il said, “Senior Choi Ji-hee, who swept through the 60s and 70s, has passed away.” He said, “He was a great actor who left his mark in our film industry, such as receiving the Best Supporting Actor award at the 1st Blue Dragon Film Awards. I’m sorry,” he recalled.

The mortuary was prepared at the funeral hall of Inje University Seoul Paik Hospital, and the funeral was held on the 19th. Jangji is Bundang Sky Castle.
