Riyadh: A decision has been taken to increase the number of pilgrims allowed to perform Umrah to 70,000 per day. This was announced by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. The decision took effect on Thursday. Umrah permits are issued through the Itamarna and Tawakkalna apps.
Permits can be applied for those who have received two doses of Kovid vaccine, those who have completed 14 days after receiving the first dose, and those who have recovered from Kovid disease. Immigrants must present proof of receipt of the Saudi approved Kovid vaccine with the application. With the increase in the number of pilgrims per day, 21 lakh pilgrims will be able to perform Umrah every month. Saudi Arabia has allowed foreign Umrah pilgrims to enter the country from August 9 after the Hajj.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has decided to launch a new system to purchase Umrah packages and issue entry visas to those coming from outside the country. This system allows foreign pilgrims to obtain a single Umrah visa online. The plan is to issue Umrah visas to more than 25 pilgrims through an operator or employer.
