Driving the spread is the omicron mutation.
In Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do, where Omicron has already become the dominant species, 356 people have been confirmed with Corona, an increase of 100 from the previous day.
Gyeonggi Province has the highest number of confirmed cases among 31 cities and counties.
The number of new COVID-19 cases today reached 7,630, the second highest ever.
As it was the weekend, the number of inspections decreased by 62,000 from the previous day, but the increase did not stop.
If this trend continues, it is expected that the number of confirmed cases during the week will exceed 10,000.

“There’s such a thing as a test pattern. If that number comes out (on the weekend), it must be said that it comes out more than that during the week. I think it will go up to about 10,000.”
However, medical capabilities such as the number of patients with severe cases and hospital beds are still stable.
Compared to a month ago, when an average of nearly 7,000 confirmed cases per day were reported, the number of critically ill patients in the 900 range fell to 400, and the intensive care bed utilization rate fell from 81.5% to 19.9%.
However, when the number of confirmed cases increases, there is a time lag of 2-3 weeks, and as the number of severe cases increases, it is urgent to prepare for this.
In addition, there are many pointed out that the medical system for patients with mild and moderate symptoms, not high-risk groups, should be supplemented quickly.
