Doha: The registration process for the Ultra Run, a 90 km marathon between Qatar’s two borders, has begun. The Ultra Run, one of the longest running races in the world, is run by the Qatar Ministry of Sports. The championship, known as the Qatar East to West, takes place on December 10.

Ultra Run is organized with the aim of ensuring a healthy life by inculcating sports and exercise among the people of the country. Organizers said they expect 500 people to take part in the 16-hour race. Registration will be for those who meet the prescribed fitness criteria. Abdullah Al Dosari, chairman of the organizing committee, said the registration could be done through the Qatar Sports for All Federation website.

The race will start from Sheraton Park and end at Dukhan Beach. In the meantime, five points will be prepared for the contestants to rest. Here, food and water are prepared. Ambulance, police, medical systems and doctors are also available. It starts at 4.30am on December 10th. Must finish before 8.30. Last time, 425 athletes from 44 countries participated.
