A drunk woman in Kwun Tong Waterfront Garden accidentally fell into the sea and was rescued. At about 1 am today (8th), the police received a report that a middle-aged woman fell into the sea on the site. Police officers from the East Kowloon Stormtrooper arrived immediately after receiving the report. They saw the victim struggling in the sea. One was wearing casual clothes. Seeing that the situation is critical, the female police immediately jumped into the water and held the victim in her arms. She was then transported back to the Kwun Tong Public Pier by the Marine Police and sent to the hospital by ambulancemen for treatment. After investigation by the police, it is believed that the victim was drunk and chatted with a friend. She accidentally fell into the sea while sitting on the railing. The incident was not suspicious.

It is understood that the policewoman who fought to save lives was Wu Cuihua of the East Kowloon Stormtrooper. She represented the Hong Kong Life Saving Team in September 2016 to participate in the biennial “World Life Saving Championships” in the Netherlands. At that time, Hong Kong representatives Huang Xueying and Wu Cuihua won the gold medal in the women’s rope throwing rescue competition in 12.53 seconds, which was the first gold medal ever won by Hong Kong in the World Savings Championship.
