Lovers kissing in a car were flogged in Indonesia. The incident took place at the Bustanal Salatin complex on the island of Sumatra. A 24-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were sentenced.
Both of them received 21 lashes. They were punished when the passengers saw them kissing while sitting in the car. The two were arrested by the police who came to check the car in the Ule Lee Harbor area.
Photos of the woman screaming in pain while being beaten have also been released. The head of the Banda Aceh Prosecutor’s Office Criminal Investigation Department said that the two of them broke the ‘Sinayat Law’.
