| A Second World War bomb exploded while being defused in the UK

London: A bomb believed to be from the Second World War has been found in the British town of Great Yarmouth. The bomb accidentally exploded while trying to defuse it. No injuries were reported.

The incident began on Tuesday when a contractor involved in dredging work in the River Yare found 250kg of explosives. After he informed, the authorities arrived in the area and issued a high alert. People were then evacuated and the roads closed. The team of experts began the operation to silence the explosive device on Friday. Meanwhile it somehow exploded. According to the police, casualties were avoided due to the presence of a protective shield around the bomb, which was made in the last century. Norfolk Police later tweeted pictures of the bomb detonating during defuse operations. This video later went viral.
